I'm currently a Software Engineering PhD student at the Institute for Software Research at Carnegie Mellon University. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Engineering from MIT in 2002 and a Master of Engineering in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT in 2004. After earning my Master's degree, I spent several years as an "ethical hacker" at Verizon Business, helping government agencies and major financial institutions discover and repair security vulnerabilities. For the past decade, I have worked at a federally funded research and development center, focusing on cybersecurity issues for the federal government.
